Mibo A-10 Operating Canopy Installation Manual
Materials required:
Dremel tool with cut-off wheel and 1/8" carbide cutting bit, 1/16, 3/32 drill bits, cordless drill, 5/64, 3/32 allen drivers, Fine tooth Razor Saw, Aeropoxy, Med CA, 80 grit sandpaper, solvent cleaner (Acetone or Lacquer thinner).
Pre-installation instructions:
using a razor, separate the small hatch (square tab/approx 2.25" sq.) from the rear of the canopy. This tab forms the lift door behind the canopy when the canopy hinge arms are moving upward (canopy un-locking and opening). Set small door aside for now.
Place canopy lift unit onto canopy sill flange as shown in the photo below. The canopy lift unit pivot point should be approx 1.25" aft of the rear edge of the canopy frame sill on the fuse.

Main mechanism cross bar mounted. Only the triangle flat brackets mount against the side of the fuse using Hysol.

Carefully
fit and cut the carbon fiber cross bars so that they will fit into the moveable
canopy flange. Be sure the ejection seat has enough clearance for the front
cross brace to clear the top of the seat.

Back lower fuse deck installed

Slot in rear panel for lift tab. This allows the rear cover to fit over the unit lift tab. DO NOT GLUE THIS PART IN PLACE! It must be fastened using small screws from the outside of the hatch; if not, the canopy will NOT be removable.
Drill thru the top of the hatch and into the lift tab from the canopy unit using two screws. This is sufficient to hold the hatch in place.

Rear hatch in place after being fitted. When the mechanism operates, the rear tab lifts first and then the canopy opens once the rear hatch is out of the way.

Top cover deck installed above carbon fiber cross braces.
Part directly behind ejection seat is scale canopy lift from Mibo.

With the rear hatch removed completely, the canopy can be opened as seen to the left for easy access to the cockpit and electronics under the cockpit.
INSTALLING THE CANOPY LOCKING SYSTEM:

Make two slots (one on each side) of the canopy sill for the canopy hooks to pass thru.

Mount each locking unit as shown here under each side of canopy sill.
When connecting the locking units to the locking unit servos, mount each locking unit servo tray just under the front canopy frame against the side of the fuse so that each locking rod runs from front to rear and is fairly straight from the servo arm to the lock unit's locking arm.

This is a typical locking pushrod install. The supplied piece of 1/8" carbon fiber tube can be installed over the .040 pushrod wire for stiffness if desired.
