Mibo A-10 Operational Inboard Slat Installation Manual
Locate the hatch frames (fiberglass) and set aside. Follow the photos below to measure and cut the slat servo access cover openings.

The openings for the slat units are located 89mm from the wing root edges on both wings. The openings are 76mm by 76mm and are 40mm back from the leading edge of each wing. Use a fine razor saw to cut out the openings. The hatch covers will be made from the cutouts.

Mark each dimension as shown here. Use a 5/16 (8mm) drill bit for each of the holes shown. A step drill makes the cleanest holes.

Mark each slat as shown here and drill two 21/64" (8mm) holes. DO NOT DRILL THRU THE TOP SKIN OF THE SLAT!!!

Install the lift pin guide spacer jig through the two 8mm holes in the wing skin. Press the jig flat to the wing surface and tape in place.

Slide each guide onto the jig as shown here and tack the outer edges of each guide in place using CA and kicker. DO NOT GET ANY GLUE ON THE SPACER GUIDE!!!
Once the guides have been tacked in place, use Hysol to make a bead of glue around the base of each guide.

Assemble each slat drive unit as shown here. Both drive servos must face the same direction!

Install each drive system into the opening as shown here. Once both lift pins have been lined up and inserted thru the guides, test each unit for smoothness by moving the servo arms back and forth. If the lift pins seems a bit sticky, try moving the entire unit a bit to one side or the other until the action of the pins is smooth. Once satisfied with the working of the unit, tack the base of each unit in place using CA and kicker. Run a bead of Hysol all around the base of each unit where it contacts the inner wing skin. BE SURE NOT TO GET ANY GLUE ON THE MECHANISMS!!!

Once the units have been installed, install each of the cover flange parts as shown in this photo. Be sure to back each corner with some 1/16" (2mm) ply as screw backing.

dab a small amount of Vaseline onto the base around each lift pin. DO NOT GET ANY LUBE ON THE TOP END OF THE PINS!
Once the Vaseline is in place, apply a small amount of Hysol to the tip ends of each lift pin on both slat units and inside the holes drilled on each moveable slat part.

Install each slat onto the pins and carefully press each slat down until in bottoms out against the wing surface.

Slat lowered onto wing surface.

Tape each slat unit down onto wing as shown here. Allow the Hysol to cure overnight before removing the tape.
Once the tape has been removed, manually check the operation of each unit.

SLAT EXTENDED

SLAT RETRACTED
This concludes the slat install. Use a single channel to drive the slats using a "Y" harness. Minor adjustments can be made be adjusting the ball links on the servo bellcrank systems.
